Flight journal- flights 84, 85

Believe it or not, there are no entries in my log for the entire year of 1998. It was a rough year for me, mostly financially. Too many bills and expenses, and not enough money coming in. Flying went on the back burner, but I never stopped thinking about it. By the time January came around, I was tired of telling myself "wait until you can afford a block of time..."
Flight 84, 85
01-19-99, 01-20-99
C-172
ORL-X04-ORL
ORL (local)
1.3 dual; 4 landings
0.9 solo; 1 landing
"local flight; pilotage; maneuvers, MCA"
A long hiatus-sixteen months! ends with an impulsive move while visiting my friend Mitch in Orlando.
I book a 172 at Orlando Executive for a rental checkout, taking Mitch along with me. It is uneventful- the usual story: a few landings over at Apopka, starting with a predictably scary one and ending with an acceptable one.
So I go back the next day and rent another C-172 for a solo hop, out near the lake again.
I didn't work on landings... just wandered around and did a little MCA flying... I just wanted to sit up there for a while.
Next: my first BFR
