10 hours and 40 landings later...

My free ride through PPL training is up, but I'm not giving up, time to shell out for the rental C-152 at the local :P. On my latest lesson it finally 'clicked' and I got 3 landings in without any assistance from the instructor. Also did a simulated engine-out from downwind to the runway, very fun, full flaps and dive to the runway (with the proper radio calls of course! :P). I did get a few minutes of IFR 'hood' time but it was nice and smooth so not to hard, and flying in the sim helped a lot here, then I was told to close my eyes while the instructor put the airplane in a usual attitude and then I had to recover the airplane with the hood on without taking to long :P. After we landed we met the local airshow pilot and his Su-31, no rides though :-[... offered to trade the C150 for the Su-31, no luck there either... :P

Excellent... how did you do with the UA recovery under the hood in the 152?

I did better with the dive and turn then with the climb and turn, that one made me a little dizzy, a bit like closing your eyes, spinning in a circle, then opening them and trying to read a cover of a book. :P

Shouldn't take too long to recover from a usual attitiude...

...unusual would be another matter. ;) :)
