As I type National Geographic Channel is showing live Yves Rossy attempt to "fly" over the English Channel with four Jetcats strapped to his rear :o
Good luck to him.

the one thing I find funny, these presenters saying he flew like a bird. I dont know too many birds who come with 4 mini jet engines attached. :D

If he wasn't, I'm sure the Porter, and pair of helicopters were. :)

As for the AAA, he did land very close to the old BoB vintage Chain Home rader towers on the cliffs! :)

What keeps going through my mind as I watch that is how it must feel being so exposed to the elements, with just a wing on your back keeping you suspended in the air, and four jet engines parallel to your knees. It must be the most joyous experience ever, and I can see why he'd want to do it. :o

Man, the time I could save on my commute to work every morning and commute home...my luck though one of the Marines would shoot me down as I made my approach into the compound...speaking of which, wonder what kind of regulations and new duties for the militaries/civilians this would produce?  Wouldn't be too hard for a criminal/terrorist to do some malicious work with one of these strapped to his back... :o

Not trying to dig up the bad and rain on his parade, I love it and I'm thrilled he made it successfully and hope it goes places, it just occured to me that more than one party would be looking into this and thought it would make good conversation.

Same as tracking with whilst skydiving i suppose, only then your moving more lateral at a higher speed and can produce substantially more lift, and oh, you got 4 kickass jet engines with you ;D
