A Big Dump...

...is what happens when a 747 taking off at Gatwick loses an engine. I spent the weekend on the south coast of the UK, and on Satyrday morning was surprised to see a low level 747 with some very odd contrails as I walked into the garden, which a second or three later I figured were a fuel dump in progress - it stopped a minute or so after he'd crossed the coast heading north back to Gatwick.

'So happens some other chap had a camera at the ready, and caught the event HERE!.

Interesting photos, considering most dumps will be done well out to see, and are a fairly rare occurence anyway

A very clear set of photos of a rare occurence.

And an expensive fuel dump no doubt, hats off to VS though, passenger safety is the No.1 priority.

Cracking set of pictures. He should be able to get a few quid for them if he tries, it is something that is rarely seen.

The link doesn't work.

It did, but it seems UKAR have opened a new forum today. They haven't exported the old posts into the new forum though, which is annoying (more annoyingly they haven't taken across existing login details, amateurs ::)).

If it reappears I'll update the link. :)

Thanks Tom. Good to see they've got the old board back up for reference. :)
