Posted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 9:49 amSecurity these days is becoming ridiculous. A 30 mile no-fly zone that sometimes pops up unexpectedly is unreasonable. I wouldn't want the president to come to my town and shut down all aviation. I wonder if they realize how much his presence inconveniences everyone else that planned to use that airspace.

Posted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:06 pmWell, when I flew my flight 2 weeks ago, we went over North Island NAS and the ATC there was NOT happy, because apparently, "go over there" doesn't mean go to where the F/A-18's are landing/taking off.
If you go over once, they'll threaten to send up the hornets, which i think they'd do considering there were 2 Nimitz class carriers + the kitty hawk carrier.
Scary but we just went on our way.

Posted: Mon Sep 01, 2008 8:29 amJust think. For these political conventions there are restrictions everywhere. I just saw about one by Minneapolis and St. Paul put in affect.
