If last weeks incident had not occured this wouldn't even have been considered newsworthy. In fact it isn't newsworthy - if every incident like this was covered on the news we'd have to extend the six o'clock news to an hour and a half to fit them all in.
It's even stretching the case to call it an emergency. In fact I doubt an emergency was even declared.
