Airline Fuel Prices and Possible Solution?

Well if the airplanes aren't sitting on the tarmac for hours it would be more efficient. I think the only solution to efficiency of airlines is to have a new ATC system that doesn't crowd the skies and airports. If planes aren't up in the skies longer the fuel demands would be less and that would solve most things. In the past decade or so the ATC system in the United States alone haven't changed much and every year there are more planes in the air. With new ATC procedures and systems wouldn't it be effective at keeping the gas prices for the airline industry down?

just a thought.

It's been worked on for a while and it really should help.  The issue is implementing it.  Thousands and thousands of pilots have been trained in the current system, so there can't just be a switch to throw that would switch systems, it will take years to change.  That change is happening though, with GPS and ADS-B in the next few years. ;)
