Another of EADS' Bf109Gs had a landing mishap after an emergency landing today at Berlin's ILA show. Walter Eichhorn (who was at the controls for the "Red 7" wheels up last month), again made safe exit. Not a lucky chap this year.

Just seen this in the German news, I hope this is not more ammunition for the anti brigade.

Landing gear again? The right gear leg doesn't look down compared to the other leg at any point in the video. Worrying if it is, after a wheels up last month. :-?

Looks like the main leg retracted rather than collapsed. Difficult to tell if it was locked down. It could be an optical illusion & I'm not familiar with the mechanism. From what I've read the main undercarriage was always a weak point of the 109. Don't know if the hard runway has anything to do with it or if there was a crosswind. It was originally intended to operate from grass directly into wind.
