:-/ :-/ :-/

I'm having a huge problem ,and I need to to once for all how this type of engines works , I choice this ons because I already done and even map it..its the original 707 engines with the silencer at the end of the engines..

the problem is I can't see thrust reverse engines mechanisms ,But I think there is a black door that opens right before the silencer device, or in other seems like th silencer with a a partial ppart of the engines move towards back

Alex,

It's actually a lot simpler. See the grill/mesh area the sides of the engine in front of the exhausts (best seen on photo 1)? They are the reverser exhausts - the reverser mechanism itself being entirely within the engine casing/nacelle.

There is a similar system on the Conway engines on the VC10 (and I assume the Conway powered 707s) - from the outside you can't actually see the reverser functioning.

see, people like animations  :-[ specially in the engines , I do belive I will have to build another engines , like john trovoltas's 707 type  :-[
or maybe not,,

Thanks a lot Charlie

Alex

The nozzle on the back of the engine is just a "hush kit" designed to try and reduce the noise that the 707 produced with this engine. As Charlie said, no moving parts are visible on this engine.............just clouds of black smoke  ;D

Hi Alex

All those pics are of the rarer RR Conway powered 420 series.

As the others say internal reversers....nothing but smoke to be seen form the outside.

Most reversers were internal in those days.

I did wonder! Explains the similarities to the '10's Conways!
