Here we go again. ::) How often do you read something like that? The media & general public always seem to need their heroes. It's obvious that the flight crew would do all in their power to save the aircraft but in a situation like this their options would be very limited. A case of hold tight & pray. Being cynical, they're sitting up the pointy end & likely to get it first. I still think they were extremely lucky to get away with it.

I have been checking AAIB quite often as to the progress. When all mechanics and fluids are in order, there is only one real place left to look and that is auto throttle software and FADEC software. It only takes one line of duff code and a obscure set of circumstances with a very small fluctuation in the norm and the required million to one chance that they all come together (and how often do we hear that) and we have a problem that is almost impossible to identify. Each time I have replaced a DEC's or a FADEC, it always crosses my mind it is nothing more than a box full of zero's and one's and it only takes one to be out of the correct order.

Good to hear the Captain's back in the seat. Unlike the Sunday Mirror, anyone with half a brain would realise it was entirely reasonable that the crew were suspended by BA until investigators could be sure their actions had not caused the incident in any way. Now that's done, they can continue flying without any worry at all. :)

I would think precautrionary suspension was mandatory so not even a BA decision

I'm sure it was. :) I suspect a large proportion of the tabloid reading population probably wouldn't understand that though. ;) :D

I have been following this for a while and it seems these investigators are getting close. They are somewhere coming up with hypothesis and theories.

Not really, all they have said is that all parameters where normal ,fuel was good, no water, no birds, no EMP, no major cavitation to note, no excessive low fuel temperature, just low fuel pressure at the HP pump.
