Apparently the vulcan is due to fly into raf cottersmore today at about 15:40 local time.

Oh sh*t. Apparently there has been a mayday declared... fire on board and she's not going back to brunty. Looks like she'll be landing at Cottesmore.

Let's hope she (and the crew) are OK.

As for the emergency itself, and having seen one or two other websites (not referring to anyone here), it's always reassuring to know that whilst one's busy dealing with such emergencies, it's being discussed in utmost detail on t'interweb... ::)

Glad to hear she's OK though, hopefully just a minor problem.

Not wrong there.
The link below is to page 13 of the thread. There are a a few photos, no sight of emergency activity during taxi. Hopefully an indication problem.

looks like it was a small fault with the aap, sounds like the compass swing went to plan though :D

Fly again, although another early landing due to problems with the Landing gear door
