This does not excite me no more, it has happen so many times over seas when I was deployed that it just became a "who did it now? and what type of plane?" Granted some of it came from the ATC giving last min changes.

But on a safety side, good thing nothing else was taxing on the same taxiway.

Reminds me of the story about 2 airline pilots that came in to land on a very short runway, white knuckled and sweaty, and almost ran off the end.  They got out of the airplane looking proud, when one of them looked around and said "this runway may be incredibly short, but my god its wide!"

;D

How about a real narrow runway. 50ft wide. Can you land a 747 on that?...

That was the first. I believe they've also done it with a 100/200/300/400 (delete whichever it wasn't - I cannae be bothered to look it up!) since.

Wasn't there an incident or two at Seattle as well?  Those events were attributed to solar glare off of the runway or taxiway at certain times of day.

Looking at that video, that's the 747SP that originally did it (the video title says so too). ;) :)

You're right though, it was a 747-200. :)

Whoops. I just realized I should have been more clear with that. :)
