Hopefully in 10 years time, critics and "purples" permitting, we'll be able to celebrate its 100th birthday.

But only in a very low key just in case we offend anyone who has been bombed in the last 100 years. Probably a couple of airman, a Victoria sponge cake and a cup of NAAFI tea.
In a previous life I was stationed at Marham for the 75th. I do hope that the weather is better for any planned 100th.
I happened to have gate guard duty in the week before the 75th. The things that I saw. On the route into the station, all the rope around the SHQ was painted white. A patch of grass past it's sell by date was sprayed green...........naturally a few days after it was very dead. Turf was laid all over the place. I had to sign for the lorries as they came in. Five or six comes to mind at
