I interviewed with Republic Airways last week.  Yesterday, I received a phone call with a job offer.  I'm getting the CRJ-200 and training starts in early May.

congrats, good luck in training.

For the line:

get one of these

http://www.imprintitems.com/sitewide/im ... 046_lg.jpg

zip lock a few pieces of bread, and a small container of peanut butter. Most snacks like crackers, cheese and vegis will keep with limited refrigeration. If you have access to a refrigerator, lunch meats like turkey or ham should keep for a while.

some overnights have microwaves, so bowls of instant soup can be useful too.

You can spend a fortune real quick by hitting taco bell, mcdonalds and subway several times a week, so the above is useful!

Also, after training, make a "trip book"... a separate folder from your jepp charts where you keep approach plates specific only to your destinations. makes life easier.

Haha, I was just thinking about that actually.  A designated pilot examiner was just telling me the other day how much he liked his when he worked for pennicle.

Thanks!

I keep two trip books,

i use two of these http://www.cleansweepsupply.com/pages/i ... 47780.html

you can pick them up at office max, just photocopy the required charts and put them inside plastic sheet protectors.

basically, the black book is for the hub and the blue book is for outstations

Black book contains hub taxiway diagram, departure procedures and arrival procedures for the hub only

blue book contains all of that for outstations.

a little nerdy, but i dont have to keep folding up an arrival chart and putting it back... with this setup all i have to do is flip open to the page i need and its there, photocopied full page arrival behind a nice clear plastic cover.

Excellent! Good luck, and yes, stay away from the fast-food joints at the airports...  ;D

Congratulations :D I hope you have more fun flying the CRJ200 than I had spannering on the dam thing . Don't want to put you off, but has Bombardier sorted out the uncommanded role spoiler deployment yet? There is/was a software glitch that could make the role spoilers do their own thing when the flaps where down if they felt like it. I experienced it once about 15 feet of the runway on approach. I have never had a fear of flying, but that day, I thought my number was up. Had a friend that experience the same problem but at rotation, he felt pretty much the same way. However, this is about five years ago now, so time enough that it has been sorted.
