So first a bunch of yahoos sneak into the Air port and start protesting on a 777, I said they should have been shoot and security tightened before some thing worst happens...this was not done. And now a person with a bag runs in front of planes to do who knows what.

I don't think the next time it is going to be nothing, some thing major is going to happen or a bunch of people are going to get hurt if the slack security keeps up. I know it is hard at a large Airport to watch every thing 24/7, but at least step up the patrols or something to keep the people traveling through there safe.

I tend to agree, but one or two Greenpeace less, I am only talking a shot in the leg maybe, the rest would soon climb down when one is taken down

In all seriousness, they are so full sh#t ideals that they forget that in pulling a stunt like this, they contribute a huge increase in green house grasses through their actions. As for this latest idiot, probably turn out his girlfriend had left him/did not get enough pocket money as a child/death by cop, you know what.................I don't even care.

The next we hear about Heathrow, it more then likely will be that something bad happen. That is twice now that people have easily gotten to the planes out there. I have meet the British cops, they carry SMG's, why the hell are they not preventing this stuff from happening? Passenger safety at the Airport should be job #1.

I'm glad no one does that crap here with our trigger happy air port police, and local police working there also.


And if you are wondering why this agitates me so much, is because my base is shared with the local air port, and if that were to happen here they would be able to get to our planes, as well as the local planes. and if they happen to have a bomb that means my friends working at the terminal are put in danger, or my self. And because of this is why I have a zero tolerance on the breach of Airport security.

Really, there is no way you can secure a airport, unsless offcourse you shoot every person that enters the airport. Heck, the dutch AF even admits that they cant stop a terrorist or someone that would care to harm a plane when its on the airport, it is rather easy jamming a C-172 into a landing or departing 747 especialy since those planes are allowd to fly overhead major airports(follow a pre-designated route). And if you wanted to shoot down a 747, just visit a parking or a road near the airport, making sure offcourse you buy your equipment on the black market, shouldnt be to hard getting US build equipment, there one of the biggest exporters world wide.

and offcourse, dont forget to annoy the staff working at a airport the best you can, and ask them for there ID's 20 times an hour(my neighbours tows planes and cargo around, happends to him daily)!

I personaly rather see the security and alikes being loosend, i dont feel any safer when the governement is trying to restrict freedom in the name of security, especialy since anyone or anything that feels like harming others will always find a way. One will never be really safe.

Patrolling a perimeter that measures several miles cannot be easy - and to be fair this chap was apprehended fairly quickly once his intrusion was discovered. You also have to bear in mind that in todays society, if he'd been apprehended in a quicker "more hostile" fashion, and got himself injured in someway, some leeching lawyer would soon be offering to get him compensation. Also to note is that certain airports seem to spend far more money on security staff who check flightcrew - and I've heard of British military crews being lectured by security staff at some UK airports about "the fight against terrorism" as the crews objected to having their personal belongings rifled through and thieved.


What they need is a better perimeter barrier. How about a 6ft deep pirahna infested moat?

I under stand that you can't make any thing total safe, but you can tighten security, so people stop thinking it is easy to get it. And And I agree with the fact that lawyers would get involve, they need to use bean bag guns, rubber bullets, and stun guns on these people. Once you get the point through that they are not taking any crap from any one who breaks the rules will pay. And this should cut down on people thinking that it is an easy target.

So far the air ports I have been to, have good patrolling units. And as big as Frankfurt Int. is, I felt pretty safe there the many times I was their with cops doing random frequent patrols around the parked planes and under the jet ways, and this includes the areas where non powered up planes were sitting. There might have been a 2 min gap where no one would have noticed a person climb the fence, but where the tower is they would have noticed them in that time frame.

This is the result of living in a world of no consequences.  Today criminals have more rights than their victims or the police.
