It appears Qantas's reputation for never having to write of an aircraft due to an accident is in jeopardy.  At least no one was hurt.

The aircraft had been inspected and will be repaired at a cost of clode to $100 million to keep Qantas's reputation intact.

BPB, however, why should Qantas have to worry. I was not one of their aircraft. It was a wet-lease, just their colours on the aircraft.

Pride - one of the human prime motivators.  Not saying this is necessarily bad, mind you.  I would feel rather confident flying with an air carrier that was so maniacal about their safety record.
