At last Prince Will has seen the light, and has had his first promotion, and joined the boys in blue, albeit temporarily. :)

I wonder if he'll still be playing with helicopters when he does his stint with the RN?

Let's hope he's better than his father.. Anyone remember the tailwind landing a few years back?

His father gave up after that. These will be "paper" wings I think - I doubt Wills will ever take control of his aircraft in future. His father qualified fully, as did Uncle Andrew doing full courses with the RAF and RN respectively. :)

Uncle Andrew as I recall, was an operational chopper pilot in the Falklands war on board HMS Invincible and if memory serves, was one of the crews involved in the rescue of troops from a very on fire Atlantic Conveyor.

Yep. Andrew was an operational chopper pilot the same as any other - as close to a "regular" serving member of the armed forces as you can get. He only retired a few years ago having been promoted, and having the associated commands, all the way to Captain IIRC. :)

Not exactly. The PM thinks he does, but Parliament votes on them to make them law........or not as the case may be.
