Very sad indeed, being closed for more parking spaces.  >:( >:(

Who knows what will happen now.  :'(

Terrible, and I shamelessly quote from another forum how tragic it is that this museum has been lost:

Not because of lack of volunteers.
Not because of lack of visitors.
Not because of lack of funds.
Not because of lack of enthusiasm for local aviation.
But because the airport authority doesn't seem to care about the airport's history.

Ironically I believe Hurn is owned by the operators of Manchester - who have been happy to allow a collection on their main site... ::)

A sad sad day. Lets hope it doesn't set a precedent

Pity they've only got a Griffon, if they'd had a Merlin I'd have made an offer!

I wonder what will happen to DeHavilland Aviation (who own the Sea Vixen), I assume that they are not being chucked out to...?  :-/

DHA are a company in their own right, and I imagine as active user of the airfield (and paying for its use) would be re-homed. They do have the same address though, hangar 600... :-?

Shame about the Vixen, all snug under a roof and nowhere to fly...
