I have finally decided to begin flying lessons, I had a trial flight last week and will begin the lessons next Saturday. I am wondering if anyone has any good links to information on what i might be learning during my lessons. I will be buying the book they recommend to pass my BAK, but any links would be great. I Just want to try to be one step ahead of the lessons so i understand what the instructor is telling/shouting at me.

I've already learnt my phonetic alphabet, although it is still difficult to pick out the correct one at the correct time. :( and i am trying to loose all the bad habits i picked up from flight Sim.

Phonetic alphabet is easy...I only taught my sister once and she uses it to annoy me all the time...BIG mistake ::) ;D

Try this site here:

http://www.pyrochta.ch/english/index.html

It looks a bit like a popup-site, but has very good features whith which you can improve your basic knowledge.

As humorous as that comment about the pause button may seem, there will be times you'll wish you had one!

hey, i learnt my phonetic alphabet today... took me from morning break (11am) and an hour at lunch (12:30-1:30) hehe

i think im pretty much fluent now, but i keep forgetting Oscar, Papa, Victor and sometimes Romeo

you just need to make an association... eg, Romeo and Juliet or something. youll get the hang of it (im just naturally quite good at kinaesthetic work, so speaking and doing things sticks... i cant really remember much else lol)

now i just need to learn the other phrases that go with the phonetics, such as 'charlie charlie' means 'everyone' i think... strangeness.
