is that a common practice for that type of glider?

With a stong enough headwind theoretically just about anything could do it - that's all it it is.

Nicely finessed though.

You struggle to hold it up and jump though!

Get the pitch a little wrong and you could find yourself going backwards very quickly though.

I noted just about the first thing he did after he got his legs up was get his nose down!

I did that in FS9 the other day...
