Just happened about an hour ago in Missouri. A Missouri Air National Gaurd F-15C, outta Lambert, crashed after a mock dog fight with four other planes invovled. It said the pilot ejected before the crash and was taken to the hospital

Glad he made it out alright. Too bad about the Eagle.

Agreed

Glad the pilot is still alive though!

Glad he got out...
...don't fancy being in his shoes for the next 6 months or so (unless they quickly establish that it was a technical failure...)

"I heard something fluttering, like something was wrong with the plane," said property owner Dairl Asher, 71. "I heard a bang and I saw some smoke."
That sounds like a compressor surge. Could be pilot induced or could be engine induced or by a third party, but one has to be careful with witness statements from laymen.

Sounds eerily similar to a crash in Knox county Indiana on May 30th, also a Missouri ANG F-15C of the 131st Fighter Wing.
