Brilliant PR!

Just been scanning the local evening post i deliver, as i do every day, and came accross a great article on the expansion of Bristol airport. Micheal O'Leary, of Ryanair fame, was in bristol airport yesterday to announce the launch new routes to poland and eastern europe. He has never really gotten along with environmental protesters, but here is his exact quote on airport and airline expansion and what he thinks of airport protestors

"They Badger us and bang on about how the end of the world is nigh because of global warming - but it's not. Aircraft account for less than two per cent of pollution. The biggest polluter is the government. Taxing to the hilt of petrol and cars hasn't stopped people driving around in huge vehicles. Ryanair has reduced CO2 emmisssions by 50 % and noise pollution by 52% No other industry has a record like the airline industry when it comes to that. We're doing this despite tighter demands being put on us all the time - but it wont stop the Swampies of this world climbing up trees to protest about airlines and airports. They should all geta job and get a life"

I just love how his argument starts really properly and like any other ceo, the whole PR thing, and to close his statement he says "those swampies" should get both jobs and lives. Thats how i like it

Well done sir. Sadly the powers that be will alway let more and more cars on the road, including a vast number who shouldn't, or even worse, haven't taken driving test. Power stations - anti nuclear protesters are desperate to prevent any more being built - instead we get more fossil fuel burning behemoths...

Whilst I totally agree with his attitude toward government policy and his dislike of  the noisy minority that seem to get the airtime when it comes to cheap airline travel, his attitude toward his staff and customers sucks.
