Worrying news indeed Doug, the worst that can happen is that property developers get their grubby paws on it. Let us hope it doesn't come to that!

Ooooooooooh dear. Seems to be a recurring theme nowadays. These super ambitious investors just seem to have piles of debt. Whats more "amusing" is the thought that somewhere like Shoreham could ever have been developed to make a lot of money...

;) Well, they can't say I didn't warn them. ::)

The whole sorry business needs investigating. The airport was sold in indecent haste for a ridiculously low figure. Heads should roll over this but I expect there will be a cover-up.

I'm not the doom-and-gloom type, but this doesn't look good.   :(

There are probably many improvements possible for Shoreham without closing it; changes that might bring in some revenue.

 But when I read "redevelopment" that usually means "scraping it off the face of the earth and building something tacky in its place".  ::)

But obliteration of the airport and commercial development of that site would be an insult to the heritage of the whole community there, and England in general... there must be more citizens who care about the airfield enough to make a stink about it!  >:(
