BA - Airbus or Boeing!

Postby C » Thu Sep 27, 2007 5:18 am

So, do BA decide on an all Boeing fleet, or and all Airbus fleet?

...or both?

Glad this happened... I've always thought an A380 would look good in BA colours... :D

I think there's an element of being the world's favourite airline, they need to be seen to operate the world's largest airliner too. There may have been a bit of pressure from BAA, who spent gazillions upgrading Heathrow to A380 standard and builing T5 at the airport where BA are the flagship operator!

Well, the upgrade happened anyway, but I think for BA not to order the A380 as well would have been a faux pas. Besides, if Virgin have them, BA need to be seen to be just as good!

The same thing happened with the A380 when it was at that stage. It's been being predicted for aaaaaages that Boeing will face delays on the 787 - it's to be expected really, with all the new and untried technology it's got.
