Easypope!

Postby FsNovice » Tue Aug 21, 2007 8:53 am

The Vatican is to launch a low-cost charter flight service to transport pilgrims to holy sites worldwide.

The inaugural flight on 27 August will go from Rome to Lourdes in France.

A small Italian airline, Mistral, will provide the planes, with the interiors decorated with sacred inscriptions such as: "I search for your face, Lord."

couldnt help but laugh at this new venture
When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return – Leonardo da Vinci.

This is so tempting, but I have learnt a couple of valuable lessons this last day or so about the direction a thread could take. :-X

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Speaking as someone raised in a terribly strict Catholic household I can't wait to try these guys. I mean they'll have nuns as stewardesses, food will consist of holy water and communion wafers, in the event of an emergency rosary beads will drop from the lockers above you head, and EVERYONE must say Grace before lunch is served.
Mind you the bishop blessing the plane whilst it is on the tarmac getting ready for take-off could unnerve some people ;D
Tis a pity Father Ted is no longer with us as they could probably do an amazing skit on this ;D ;D ;D

The pilots won't have to wear silly braid unless they're a monsignor or higher... just black with a little white dog collar ;D

Wonder if they'll find an "excuse" to ferry pilgrims on the lucrative London-Orlando FL route...  :)  Nothing says pilgrimage better than a visit to the big rat.  How about Graceland?  Will they fly a route to that sacred monument?

No remarks about 30,000 feet and being a bit closer to God than the Pope for a short while then  ;D
