Airshow Recap

Okay guys, a quick recap of my day at the Kansas City Aviation Expo

Not the best show I've ever been to, but not bad.  Lima Lima flight team was pretty cool.  Randy Ball in his Mig was cool too.  Other than that I had pretty much seen everything there before, so as cool as they were, I was sorta underwhelmed.  Not to mention the almost complete lack of warbird flying action (A P-51, some Harvards, and a T-28 was pretty much it).  Got to go on Flagship Detroit which was awesome, but it didn't fly while we were there so :'(.  Saw an A300 very close up, pretty cool...and a V-22 Osprey but it didn't fly.  2 Harriers, pretty neat but not that much vertical stuff (basically did a STOL, came in, hovered, landed).  Golden Knights....well they were impressive but kind of boring IMO.  B-2 is always cool, but I saw one in April and it did a much cooler series of flybys.  Basically the airshow I went to in April has ruined airshows because it was so amazing!   I have to go to oshkosh to get the same caliber of a show I think.

On a side note, it was so much fun to go with a bunch of aerospace engineers.  It turned out to be a riot of a day, and very intersting because the older members of our group had some really great questions about the V-22.  We tried to walk over to where the Mig and the Golden Knights plane was parked but they weren't letting us so we tried to talk our way across saying we were engineers, it's okay.  Very fun day indeed!

Didn't take that many pics because I only had a shitty camera, but I will post some.
