I was coming home from Vegas today and got out there between Schurz and Fallon, NV. Fallon is where the US Naval base is; it's where they do the Top Gun thing. So I'm coming north toward Fallon out there where the bombing practice range is. I see two F-18s mixing it up at a high rate of speed and a low altitude. They are chasing each other all over the sky. They are doing high-bank turns and steep climbs, getting on each other's six, following the terrain and all manner of fun-looking things. One even did a axis roll that would have had me blowing chunks! I am thinking it must be grand to have 20/20 eyesight; a scientific, mathematics or engineering degree, and be young-- alot younger than me. My hat is off to these young men who do this for the protection of me and my country. May God Bless America! May God Bless our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines...

Sounds like a nice site... I really hope I can get the PRK surgery  ;D I want to be one of those guys, flying around with a $25+ million dollar jet strapped to me.

Must be great to be that guy  :D

Eye surgery and flying is mostly still a "no no".

P.S: Since when are soldiers and Marines different from each other?

The USAF will actually pay for PRK/Lasek/Lasik surgery if you meet all other qualifications. Without it, I stand little chance of actually flying. From what I've heard, a good majority of the Military pilots in the United States have had some form of eye surgery to attain the required eyesight standards. Then again, my eyesight isn't nearly as poor as it could be. Although, I do need glasses to read writing and such at a distance.

That's nice, but the GAF wouldn't do that. They wouldn't even take me for flying helicopters. :/

I'm wearing contacts and never had any problems with them during my service.
