Then go to Witchita for.....

Salute to the Liberty Belle B-17
The Liberty Foundation, which rescues and restores B-17 bombers used in World War II, is bringing one of its newly restored Liberty "Belles" to Wichita this weekend. Visitors to Jabara Airport can go to take a tour of the plane, or even fly on it. Here's what you need to know:

1) If you want to fly on the plane, the cost is $430 a person for 30 minutes, with proceeds going to the nonprofit Liberty Foundation. Sign up at the airport or call in advance at 918-340-0243.

2) You can tour the plane on the ground with a $3 donation. No reservation is necessary. The plane will be on the ground for 30 minutes out of every hour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

3) The Liberty Belle that is coming to Wichita is one of only 14 B-17s that still fly today. It took 15 years to rebuild it, and this is its first visit to Kansas. It was built toward the end of World War II and never saw any combat. It's painted in the color and nose art of the original B-17s that flew countless missions with the 390th bomb group of the 8th Air Force.

4) The B-17s were built by Boeing and were dubbed the "Flying Fortress" as a result of the plane's amount of defensive firepower.
