Sightings for December 14

I was down in Vegas today, not too far from Nellis, as I always am twice a week. I was watching the F-16s come in (quite a few today...) when I see three of them come in fast, low and tight-- faster, lower and tighter than the usual approaches. About 1000 yards behind these three is a solo. They all hit the smoke at the same time. I say out loud to myslef "That's got to be the Thunderbirds. No one else would do that." They fly down the runway, then break sharply up and to the left in succession, the smoke continuing to pour from their tailpipes. They do a pattern around Nellis, then land quickly, one right after the other. As they make the turn to go south and land, I see they are the Thunderbirds. OK, I say. Good to see you guys are in fine practice...
I saw another B-1 come in about 0900 this morning. The F-15s were in full roar, too. Plenty of 'em today. I like them...
I was going south on US95 through Hawthorne, NV the other day when I see a black helicopter land at the Army depot there. It was the kind that police departments have-- big, but not huge and not one of those bumblebee types, either. It was completely black-- not a single marking on it. I never believed in them until I saw this one.
When I came back from my delivery on Tuesday, I am coming north into town when I see a huge cloud of dust going up at the airport. I get there and I see a huge black helicopter setting on the ground. It has two rotors drooping low and two jet engines at its rear. The gangplank is down. It is all black with only a white number visible on it as ID. The number is quite small and hard to read from my distance. When I went back yesterday, it was still there but now there are seven men around it. I'm eating lunch at the Pizza Factory right across the road from it and it gets ready to take off. The men go inside, one comes out several times before the rotors start rotating and after about ten minutes it moves down the ramp and lifts into the air once it's way out there. It's blowing up dust like no tomorrow. I think it was a CH-53, or some other heavy lifter type. It was not a Blackhawk, I'm pretty sure. Maybe it was Chinook or Sea Stallion-- I don't know for certain...
