You would be surprised just how often that happens. Basket snags and rip offs are not that uncommon, and even more so at night.... Lost count of the times that I had to boroscope engines and replace probes in a previous life due to this.

I can hardly understand how they ever do it successfully... with a hose-and-basket setup, it's gotta be a beeyonch!!! And at night!?!?!

Tanker crew did  very well, though- shut it off and retracted by the book, apparently. And at least that poor pilot didn't fall off station completely...

Quite correct, the refuel nozzle has a ring of shreer rivets just in case of a snag or hose whip.

I hate to say that, but I seriously doubt this is the Brazilian Air Force, since the voice that can be heard in the background is Italian! And these planes, if I'm not mistaken, are used also by "our" Air Force.
And most of all, I'm quite sure I spot our tricolored flag on that plane.

LOL... never mind... our Air Force is small but is one of the best, and everyone can make mistakes!  :D
