Its about time we get some new service!!!

Allegiant Air announced a couple weeks ago that February 16th they would begin the first nonstop service between Fort Wayne and Orlando (SFB) using one of there MD-80s. Yesturday it was announced that they will also begin nonstop service for Tampa 
First new route in a long time and will also operate the largest passenger aircraft from FWA. Largest current is ERJs and CRJs. Services are for Monday and Friday only.
FWA has never been a large airport and my question is how they plan for the small terminal to accomidate the larger MD-80s. 50 people waiting to board an ERJ is a crowd. Can only imagine a 150 seater full waiting. There was talk a few years ago that they were going to expand the terminal...but it was supposed to be completed in early 2006...never happened
Maybe this will finally push them to build on.
Even though I like to see new services it would be nice if they would open a couple routes out west. Farthest we can currently get is Dallas. Think there would be a demand for a route to somewhere on the coast like SFO or LAX. Would have loved to have a more dirrect flight heading for Taipei. FWA is small and my favorite airport to deal with, always cheery and friendly staff. Hope even with expansions it will remain the same environment.
Hoping Allegiant will do well, their main hub is in Las Vegas...so who knows. Florida does well enough we might finally see service to LAS 8-)
