I find it more disconcerting these notes are always found after they arrive. If it was written on the flight as a joke or some tabloid trying to make a security story they will be found. If it was written before the flight, then cleaning and security arn't doing their jobs right, and if it were a serious threat it would have been too late.

I guess it's better to err on the side of caution or whatever, but surely if someone had a bomb on a plane and expected to use that to leverage some demand, they wouldn't hide a note somewhere, hoping it would be found-  they'd tell someone about the bomb (as has been the case in every actual bomb-threat scenario aboard an aircraft).  ::)

....or someone with bad intentions planted the note so that the manner and promptness in which the authorities react can be observed.
