Well without looking it up, I'm going to guess it's a Vulcan B.1. XA903 was probably the most famous Vulcan B.1, so just 10 serial numbers down the line, it could be the same aircraft type. No idea what it's famous for, though.

VULCAN is the right answer.
Think about vulcans and what famous things they have been involved with.

It was indeed. It is the one that Angelo climbs into he steps into the cockpit and gasses the crew then he crashes it into the sea so SPECTRE can unload the atamic bombs.

Nope the Vulcan was powered by olympus engines, the tornado's was the rb.199, this particular vulcan was scrapped down at filton and used for the static trials of this engine.

edit.... The Vulcan was also used as a test bed for Concordes engines.

I believe that was XA903. http://www.thevulcancollection.co.uk/

XA913's claim to fame was being featured in Thunderball.

XA913
Delivered: December 1957
Notes: Converted to B1A standard 1961.
Stored at St. Athan before being scrapped in May 1968.

Its a shame so many vulcans were scrapped so early in their careers.
