210 people handling hundreds of thousands of airmen certificates....It'll be a while. Took me almost 90days for a PSEL

Congratulations. ;D Don't keep it in your wallet though.  I did, and all the lettering off the top half of mine has been rubbed off, and I'll probably have to get a new one soon, then find some new  place to store it...:P

I kept mine in my wallet briefly, then realized it was better off in my flight bag, because there is no need to show it to anybody unless you're going flying, and even then only rarely (haven't been ramp-checked in all my 12 years of flying, and have only had to present my PPL when applying as a new renter). And after getting mugged once and losing it along with my wallet, I realized another important reason to not keep it there. ;D
Girls generally say "Well, how do I know that's a real license?" so you can forget impressing them with it. Keep it with your flight kit. ;)

Yep, I was looking to get one of these - http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl.cfm ... ct_id=1554 - to hold my logbook, my license, and my medical certificate (because that's just taped in the back of my logbook now ::)).  I don't know if my logbook will fit though, so we'll have to see.

That's exactly what I have, and if you have a regular student-type logbook, it should fit jusy fine.
But some advice: leave the logbook at home. Even if you're getting an endorsement signature on a given flight, don't bring it with you on the flight if you can avoid that (keep it in the car or whatever).
I've got nothing to hide, myself, but you don't necessarily want the authorities to have ready access to it if something happens.
And if something happens, it'd be a shame to have the logbook get damaged.
..I've been advised many times by many pilots to leave it at home.
Which leads to another bit of advice: keep your logbook entries businesslike. If you want a record of your lousy landings or "touching the face of God" or whatever, keep a journal instead. ;D

I thought you had to have it with you?  Maybe that was just because I always had my medical in it. ???

A student  "has" to have his logbook with him..

Sans PPL, that's where the endorsements ARE.. (solo, each x-country, etc.).. It kinda IS your license.

Yeah, that makes sense, guess I never changed my ways once I got my ticket. ;D
