Today When i was walking my dogs near Wattisham i saw a flare go up from the firestation and all the 2 fire engines came out for a beech king air from Cranwell
Whats the signifigance of a red flare being fired?

A red flare from air traffic would indicate refusal of landing clearance... If Wattisham's like most places the fire station and air traffic are quite close to each other.

If I remember correctly, it is also a signal for traffic on the airfield to make an immediate stop or return to starting position. Help me out Charlie

Yes At wattisham The Firestation is directly next to the atc tower so my inital thourghts were that it was from the fire station

i was at the red circle
the yellow circle is the atc(on the right of the circle) and the firestation(on the left) and the arrow is the direction that that  flare was fired in
