Where to find?

Postby mrjake2002 » Tue Aug 15, 2006 5:16 pm

Hi,
im currently (well, still on the research stage) in the process of developing a series of repaints for each of the helicopters based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall. I've got information about the squadrons but i need to know specific info on each individual helicopter (including detailed pictures). Anyone know where i can find information?

Cheers,

For a start, bearing in mind you are not that far from Culdrose, I would give them a call (01326 574121) ask for the Public Relations Officer. Explain what you want to do and ask if you could possibly be able to make a visit to take some pictures. At worst he can only say, NO! If you are lucky, you may end up with a nice day out and a couple of full rolls of film. Remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Failing that he may be able to send you pictures.

Good luck

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

have you tried www.airliners.net That has been the biggest single resource for me since I have started repainting. Its mainly for civilian stuff, but there is still quite a bit of militery stuff.

Good luck

Bear in mind that many of the choppers will only need a simple serial change to make them any different from the others, so you won't need detailed pics of every single aircraft.

Remember also, that if you do manage to visit, not every aircraft stationed there will be at home, and may well be out, or on deployment elsewhere.
