Site wanted

I have Transport Canada's site but that does not give me the information I want.

I am looking for a site that will for example:
-list all the Cessna 172s in Canada
-list all the different types residing in a country by aircraft type and mark.

I do not need to know the owners name, address etc.
I do not need to know if the aircraft is for sale or not.

I am just looking for a site that will tell me how many particular aircraft of one type are registered in a country.

I would prefer a site that is free but any information will be most helpful. :)

Hi Doug. Not sure this is what you're looking for. Note it's a demo version & might not be up-to-date. http://www2.aviation-register.com/ircademo/irca/homepage_f

I was searching for a TSB Canada online registration database like the CAA & FAA have. Can't find it at the moment.

CAA http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?categoryid=60&pagetype=65&applicationid=1
FAA http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/defimg.asp

Thanks Doug...will check these sites out.

I just find it of interest to know how many of each type of aircraft are registered in individual country's.

Having the location or other information particular to those aircraft would be a bonus.

Transport Canada wants the registration or owners name to search for that aircraft.
That is not what I really want.

Have just spent several hours searching the web and still no such luck.

I have talked to fellow owners and members at several clubs and they do not think such a site exists.  I find that hard to believe.

If the governing body of any particular country has the registration information about the owner and aircraft then how hard would it be to compile information on the number of each type of aircraft and their location without divulging the owners personal information, such as address and phone number?

A friend of mine is going to fly in this morning and fly me up to Buttonville Ontario where we know there are several aircraft dealerships.  I shall ask them about this.
I said I would by the dinner for the trip as he refuses to take any money at all from me. :)
He also feels he is getting a free dinner and it will be a waste of my time as he also feels there is no such site available. :P

It just seems odd to me no site can be found, I wonder if they have a similar site for boats and cars?

Anyone have further information kindly post it.  Thanks :)

Did you try a search from the Type link on that site I gave you?

Well there's a turn-up for the books... :o...!

I never knew that Cessna built a retractable gear version of the '172; the Cessna "Cutlass" 172RG... 8)...!

That would make a very slippery '172 with its wheels retracted...
...and cheaper to operate than the larger 182RG model...;)...?

Paul...8)...!

Hi Doug am trying to access the site.

It says there are two versions but I do not see where to download or if there is a cost involved.

Perhaps I need to contact them at the address they post.

What I am getting is the demo site.
This gives me some information which is usefull.

Will keep trying, am probably doing something wrong.

Doug, I think the free demo site will give you all the informmation you need. Click on the various options for the Cessna 172. There are 49 models to choose from. http://www2.aviation-register.com/ircademo/irca/modelTypeserie_l?GENERICTYPEID=298&GENERICTYPE=CESSNA%20172

For example: There are 2799 listed under the basic 172 complete with their registrations. This is the first page. http://www2.aviation-register.com/ircademo/irca/modelAircraft_l?CELLMODELID=76431&CELLMODEL=172
