Well, depending on the engine selection it may be very justified...

Secondly, think of it this way - if they for example call them the A370 family, with 800, 900 and 1000 designations we may find you get a similar family to the A320. In other words, the A368, A369 and A370 - with the chance to have the A371 etc etc...

Just a thought... ;)

Hey, It might be their only marketing tool exagerated. "Hey lets ride the A350 because it's the 1,000" wupeee. LOL! ;D

Speaking of long designations.
The Tristar 500's full model name were:
L1011-385-3-500.

Now that's wicked  8)
