Question for UK members

Hi all,
Whilst spending my school lunchbreak out on the playing fields, We had 2 Canberra's accompanied by 2 Tornadoes fly over in close formation. Anyone have an idea where they were headed? We also had 4 F-15's fly over earlier if that is of any relevant help.
Thanks,
John

PS, forgot to add, my school is in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire ;)

If you're in Wisbech then with your proximity to RAF Marham I wouldn't think of it as anything too unordinary. As for the actual formation, it may have something to do with the 39 Sqn disbandment commerorations next month.

The F-15s often bimble up the east coast towards Yorkshire...

The two Canberra's where being escorted in to Marham. They where returning from the VERY LAST operational sortie, I believe from the Gulf. After 55 years it is time to retire. Although I am not a UK member, I happened to here about it on BFBS whilst driving to work (German radio sucks). The Canberra PR9 will be formally retired from RAF service on 31 July 2006

Earlier on today Craig, at 1:30 ish in the afternoon. And to Charlies response, I do get a lot of activity, Harriers, Tornadoes, C-130's and even F-15's, it was just the Cannbera/ Tornadoe flypast that struck me as odd.
Thanks for replies,
John :D
