So let me get this straight: the 747 is being made to transport parts for the 787.  Will this plane be used during the entire production run of the 787 to ferry parts or is this just Engineering Development work?  Seems like a lot of expense to add to the production of the 787...

By all accounts its an A300  8)  So I'm assuming the new 747 will be bigger in its height, length, width. But which has the bigger capacity?

perhaps, but not for definite, the external dimentsion could be larger, but the capacity of the fuselage is somewhat independant of this, to an extent anyway!

Anyone who thinks an A300 fuselage would outperform a 744fuselage in terms of cargo capacity (despite modification!) needs a reality check. Seriously.

The 744 LCF will spank the Beluga by some 500 cubic metres, minimum. Thats my guess ???

As it happens you are correct, and scarily close on the actual value!!

The Boeing: 1,845

The Airbus: 1400

Both figures in Meters Cubed.
