Pity she'll be going abroad
Wonderful news! Pity she'll be going abroad
She won't be the only one this year. It'll be nice if the 109 flies as well before it departs abroad, but IIRC the restorer tends to ship abroad then test fly...
Don't forget though, there is a Bf109 with RACo at Breighton Airfield (near Selby) due to hopefully make it's first flight at some point next year. Not the same as a genuine Me109 admittedly but it's still a nice one. It performed taxi runs at several of the RACo events (I saw it do these several times, great aicraft).

But to be fair, it's only a Buchon, and I've seen a few of those before...
I agree that a proper Me109 would be better of course but at least the Bf109 gives you the general idea of what an Me would be like.
Nice shot but Bf 109 & Me 109 are alternative designations for the original German-built DB-powered aircraft & either is correct.
It is a shame these aircraft are set to go over seas but on the bright side we should get two new Spitfires, incuding a Vb Trop, and a Seafire in the air this year and in the UK. Hope they are all ready for Legends or at least the Spitfire show in September.
Have you seen the shots of the Seafire - all nicely painted up now...![]()
