Planespotting

I live in Florida, and very much enjoy taking a day trip to Ft Lauderdale to watch the arrivals and departures there. They have a very nice outdoor viewing area just a couple hundred feet from the busy runways, with a loudspeaker broadcasting the live ATC. Ive driven to Orlando and Miami, in hopes of catching more traffic and larger planes, but they both seem horrible for plane watching. Im sure this has to do with the heightened security, but I was wondering If anyone has any good tips for recent planespotting at these airports, along with Tampa Intl. Ive searched for spotters sites on the net, but none that I find are specific to those locations.

im not best qualified to answer this, seeing as i live over 3000 miles away in scotland.  HOWEVER i visit florida quite regularly and when i do, i pass tampa intl almost everyday.  there is a road at the north end of tampa intl (west hilsborourgh ave) that is directly under the flight path.  i understand you are probably looking for something better than that to spot from, but like i say, im not best qualified to answer the question.  its a start though  :D  ;)

Schiphol has some good spots... when the weather is good they even park on the emergency lane of the road that leads to the terminal
