The Hughes Hercules is better known as the Spruce Goose. It has nothing to do with the Lockeed C-130. AFAIK
It's now on display at the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. http://www.sprucegoose.org/aircraft_artifacts/exhibits.html

Yes, Howard Hughes suffered from various mental conditions during his later life. He became a virual recluse & died more like a tramp (hobo) than a multi-millionaire. http://www.socalhistory.org/Biographies/h_hughes.htm
