Has anyone heard any updates on when the A380 will officially be put into commercial service? Ive searched all over and find only older news articles that all say "sometime in 2006".

Singapore Airlines are the first to recieve the A380 and they are predicting about October time, the real question is what route will it get first up. My guess something boring like LHR but it would be good to see them finally get SIN-SYD-LAX rights and use it on that.

Latest press release from Singapore Airlines quotes a November delivery for their first aircraft. On of the development aircraft will appear at "Asian Aerospace 2006" at Singapore Changi this month in full Singapore Airlines colours... :)

NO, the A380 is not in commercial service YET.
Airbus slapped a few Emirated stickers on one of their test aircrafts (F-WWDD) for the Dubai Airshow.
You know to showcase the aircraft.

But Emirates doesn't own the aircraft (in the meaning that they are flying revenue flights with it)
:)
