BBC's amazing detail as normal. 36ft long? 29ft wide?

Do they mean 36ft span and 29ft length. Would have taken 2 seconds to look that up on the net. Call themselve professional journalists... ::)

I've known about this one for a little time. Impressive work and quite a long way ahead of me in terms of construction ;D

I'll agree, very impressive. Do you know what the intentions are of the builder Mark?

Get her airborne and then sell her to raise money for a charity related to her sons condition (I can't remember what that is at the moment).
They haven't set ground-testing dates yet but late this year or early next year are the provisional ones. If I hear more I'll of course make suitable posts ;)

The Spitfire she was building had registration X-TD I believe, and if you look here, you'll find that X-TD is the aircraft used in the BBMF.......

(thanks to the RAF website for their BBMF Screensaver)

So does that mean that X-TD has crashed before???

XT is just a Squadron code (603 Sqn in this case), D the individual letter for the aircraft.

P7350 (the aircraft's military registration/identity, which doesn't change) is the BBMF's Mk II Spitfire and the only surviving BoB Spitfire. They change the paint schemes in the BBMF every 5 or 6 years. I think this on may be up for a change at the end of 2006...

A Mk. IX with the Soviet two-seater modifications (and boy is it giving me headaches)!
