The Global Flyer has arrived at the Space Shuttle Landing facility. Why land there?
Because Steve Fossett and crew are at it again. He plans to complete the worlds longest unrefuled flight.
He plans to take off, fly around the wrold, cross the atlantic second time and land south of London.
This flight, lasting 80 hours, would break the longest unrefuled flight record currently held by Voyager
Good luck and Best wishes

I found his comments about the runway he's taking of from (its surface finish). The Global Flyer's landed on it, but not taken off from it with its huge fuel load.
Coincidentally he'll be landing at the airfield where I first flew a glider, a Chipmunk, and from where I flew my fist solo...

i have to say... good luck but i dont envy the poor guy a bit. 14 hours a day in a cockpit is bad enough... but 80 hours??? :o not this puppy

80 hours.

Hmmmmm - that is hard going. Every success to him though.

I could never stay up that long without enough caffeine to keep an IV going

I just wonder about the "relief" facilites.... I wonder what sort of "lavatory dump valve" there is?
