Traffic gridlock was caused by the Airbourne, while day-trip visitors "spend little or no money in the town", the Greens said. What do the Green Party know about airshows anyway? The say "it's had its day", but this year (well, last year) was as good as ever.
The Eastbourne Green Party criticised the environmental and economic impact of the airshow before it was staged in 2005.
I bet the gas (petrol for for the rest of the world) stations loved it. As did the innumerable food and souvenier stands set up on the airport grounds. It is a simple fact. When your town has a tourist attraction, you get more money than one who does not.
