Paphos unknowns

Postby Souichiro » Fri Nov 25, 2005 2:55 pm

Hi all

Question:

My dad came home from Cyprus today and he passed through Paphos/Pafos Intl airbase.

He said that he saw two shackeltons....one of which strangely enough had a three bladed prop. (lanc?) he said that they looked like they were just abandoned....

he also saw another 2 engined prop plane with a twin-tail (like the mitchell) the tails were painted red white and blue and it had RAF markings on the side.

Does anyone know whether the two shackleton story is true and the identity of the third plane?

Cheers Soui

The Shacks have been there for years and allowed to sit and deteriorate as they are. As for the other aircraft I don't know [edit]I do now - see below ;)...

The other aircraft appears to be a Dassault Flamant...

About half way down this thread there's a couple of photos...
