Maurice Kirk's venture around the world in his J3 Cub appears to have met a sticky end above a mountain. Appear Maurice is in plaster and the aeroplane in bits in Japan...

At least Maurice is alive, from the photos the Cub looks rebuildable....

Going by what I saw of him at Abingdon last year he's a bit of a character to say the least. I forget what it was all about now but he was running some sort of campaign against harassment by the authorities. http://www.kirkflyingvet.com/about_harass.aspx

I seem to recall most of the trouble was motoring offences and flying under bridges.
He was also accused of drug smuggling at one point because he imported so many planes from France (I think or was it Belgium?).
