If you continue the nose curvature down to a point, it appears that Messrs Boeing have admitted that the Hatfield team got the nose aerodynamics right nearly 60 years ago with the Comet(ok, windows weren't their forte though...).

Personally i cant wait for the 7E7 sorry 787 to be built, this things going to be an amazing plane.

I think it was a wee bit more than coincidence that the front section of the Caravelle was a straight graft from the Comet 1?

Not suprising really - wasn't it Sud who manufactured the Vampire and Venom under license in France? It makes sense - why redesign the most complex part of an aircraft if you don't need to...

x0x (anything with a zero in the middle) is worldwide registered by Peugeot (that was after the Boeing )707. No-one can use these numbers (Porsche tried... and the result is the 911, which actually was '901' first)

Also the Mercedes C-101 show car, had to become the C-111....

Unless someone beats them to it & registers x1x numbers first. The whole thing is becoming ridiculous. IMHO

does anyone know why boeing names their aircraft like that?
why the 7's? is it a supersticious thing or is there a technical reason?
